Island Girl

Hey everyone(:

First let me say, you guys can scold me all you want about the fact that I left this blog to the last minute. I said that I was going to blog sometime this week..and I really just left that to the very, very, VERY last minute. But I'm here now, so it's all good!

This review is going to be on a book! This is my second book review...I don't know why I said that! ;P

The book is called Island Girl. The author is Sandra Byrd. Since it is getting closer and closer to the summer time (HURRAY!) I figured this would be an appropriate post. I could have waited until it was actually summer to make this, but I really want to make it now.

The main characters in this book are; Meg West and Tia Ramos. I'll just put in the back summary for you first.

~~~
Every summer thirteen-year-old Meg returns to the berry fields of her grandparents' Oregon farm. But this year everything is different. Back home, her mother is remarried with a new baby on the way, and Meg isn't sure where she fits in the family anymore. And now the comfortable familiarity of the farm has changed, too. There's a new girl, Tia, whose father has been hired to run the farm--a job Meg had hoped her army colenel dad would take over when he retires.
During this season of growth, Meg faces the challenges of figuring out what life, family and friendship are all about. And like the vines in her grandfather's fields, Meg strives to be a strong branch that bears sweet, plentiful fruit.
~~~

Island Girl is a really great book! My Uncle gave it to me quite a few years ago, and I love it so much! I think I like it that much because I am one for realistic fiction and that is what this book is. The back summary basically describes everything for you. The fact that Meg goes to her grandparents' berry farm every summer, her mom is remarried and she's going to have a baby (so that means that Meg has a stepdad), there is a new girl Tia, Meg's dad is an army colonel...and all that stuff!

This book is a Christian book, but I think that even if you are not a Christian, this book is still very good.

I really recommend this book because it is just super good! I read it at least once every year, maybe more. If you are a Christian (which I am), this book will definitely help you grow in your faith.

You could probably find it at your local library or a book store!

'Til next time! (I hope that will be sooner than later!),

Destiny♥

P.S. Sunny, if you want to borrow this, feel free to ask!(;
